The Academy was originally founded by World Irish Dance Champions, Byron Tuttle and Edward Searle, in Birmingham, England in the Spring of 2007. In the Spring of 2011, The Academy was officially opened in the USA!

In just FIVE short years here in the USA, The Academy has already brought EIGHT World titles back to Columbus & Cleveland!

Since its inception in England in 2007, 'The Academy' name has become synonymous with major competitive success. The Academy dancers have won many Major Irish Dancing Championship Titles worldwide, including: Regional, British National, All Scotland, Great Britain, American National, All Ireland, and World Championships. Titles have been won for both Team and Solo dancing sections, including winning back to back World Irish Dancing Championship titles in 2009 & 2010, as well as winning TWO World Titles in 2013, TWO more World Titles in 2014, THREE more World-Winning titles in 2015 and in 2016 Lochlan Howard was crowned Boys 11-12 World Champion!

The Academy has made history by winning the first ever and only female World Championship Titles in Columbus and Cleveland Irish Dancing history! Congratulations to Cosette DeBourbon & Alessandra Doughty - WORLD CHAMPIONS! As well as winning the first ever and ONLY Team World Titles in Columbus and Cleveland History!

Dancers from The Academy have made television appearances!

The Academy was a featured act on Season 8 of NBC's America's Got Talent! Our dancers made it through the first round on to Vegas with FOUR yes's from the Celebrity Judges!
